NAGLABAN-LABAN ang 15 team mula sa iba’t ibang eskuwelahan at ipinakita ang kanilang mga imbensyon para sa pagpapaganda ng buhay ng mga Filipino.

Nanalo sa 3rd imake.wemake: create. innovate. collaborate competition ng Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute at C&E Publishing, Inc., ang team mula sa Ramon Magsaysay High School-Cubao, Pavia National High School, at New Era University Integrated School-General Santos City.

Ang Ramon Magsaysay HS-Cubao team, na binubuo nina Erwin Bonto, Justin Versoza at Marc Andrie Bermundo kasama ang coach na si Rey John Caballero, ay gumawa ng communication device upang tulungan ang pagtuturo sa mga may kapansanan. Kanilang inilaban ang “Project Hermes: An Arduino-based Discourse Helping Device for Deaf and Mute Learners”.

Ang team Pavia NHS sa Iloilo City, na binubuo nina Jelliane Rose Dicen, Louise Andrew Hubaldo at Johnxis Jinon kasama ang coach Ian John Galupar ay gumawa naman ng isang low-cost radio repeater gamit ang GPS at SMS technology. Ang kanilang proyekto ay: “Echo Delta Radio Repeater with GPS Technology: Its Impact on Maritime Safety, Rescue Operations, and Disaster Mitigation.”

Sina Raven Pandac, Lyka Mae Reyes at Danisha Culipano kasama ang coach na si Diana Rose Gamil ang bumubuo sa New Era University Integrated School-General Santos City. Nanalo ang kanilang “S.M.A.R.T. School Desk: Student Monitoring and Assessment Reinforcement Technology” na nagrerekord ng attendance ng mga estudyante at tumutukoy sa mga magugulong estudyante.

Ang mga nanalo ay binigyan ng Youth Innovation Prize at P100,000 cash prize ni DOST Undersecretary for S&T Services Dr. Renato Solidum, Jr., DOST-SEI Deputy Director Albert Mariño, at C&E Publishing, Inc. Chief Operations Officer Mr. John Emyl Eugenio.

Ang all-female team ng St. Scholastica’s Academy-Marikina ay nanalo naman ng special award na C&E Makerce Award sa kanilang “TAX1CLE: Tricycle Fare Collection System Based on GPS using Arduino Uno”.

“In imake.wemake, we have set the stage again for our young innovators,” ani DOST-SEI Director Josette Biyo.
Mula sa 84 na project proposal, 15 ang pinili upang lumahok sa limang araw na project pitching and technical training at workshop sa Thinklab Philippines.
