KITE holds e-learning day, launches digital hub
KITE E-Learning Solutions, Inc. held the KITE Academy E-Learning Day, which culminated in the launching of the KITE Academy E-Learning Hub, last February 29 at the C & E Information and Resource Center (IRC) in Quezon City. KITE Academy is KITE’s end-to-end learning solution brand that comprises tools for interactive lesson creation and distribution with classroom monitoring.
The KITE Academy E-Learning Day serves as a venue for learning and exchanging ideas on trends, developments, practices, and issues on educational technology, digital instructional design, and e-skills and information literacy to meet global standards. It promotes the creation of interactive classrooms using e-learning solutions to boost the competitiveness of schools in the country.
Housed at the C & E IRC in Quezon Avenue, the KITE Academy E-Learning Hub is a one-stop center that provides students, teachers, and professionals unlimited access to KITE’s high-quality digital educational resources including KITE Academy, The KITE Line, Philippine E-Book Hub, and Philippine E-Journals. It also carries a library of more than 10,000 enhanced e-books offered by myON, a complete literacy solutions company and KITE’s international partner.
With the theme “Enhancing Philippine Education Through E-Learning: The Convergence of Educational Technology and Pedagogy Towards Knowledge Economy,” the maiden event featured lectures, paper presentations, workshops, and focus group discussions. It drew more than 70 administrators, information technology advisers, and faculty members from 35 international, local private, and specialized public high schools nationwide.
The resource speakers were Joel Yuvienco, e-learning architecture consultant and co-founder of eKindling, Inc.; Karen Diane Natera, content product manager of mobile app company Quipper; Franchita Alcausin, principal of DOLE Philippines School in Polomolok, South Cotabato; Marion Jude Gorospe, coordinator of Miriam College’s E-Learning Program; and Sr. Maria Remedios Cayetano, directress and principal of St. Paul College of Bocaue in Bulacan. Rose Villareza, chief of the Teaching and Learning Division of the Department of Education’s Bureau of Learning Delivery, delivered the opening remarks.
