CEPI joins Unilab in 1st Integrated STEM Summit in Asia

C & E Publishing, Inc. (CEPI) teamed up with Unilab Foundation for the First Integrated STEM Leadership Summit Asia to advance Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education and promote readiness for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The summit was held from November 21 to 24, 2019 at Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa in Cebu City.

 

With the theme "Strengthening STEM through Global Crossvergence," the three-day summit is a pioneering event in Asia that served as a platform for cross-sectoral dialogue and collaboration among the government, academe, industry, and community to foster STEM education to create a STEM-literate citizenry that can synergize their skills to navigate through a rapidly changing world.

 

As co-presenter of the summit, CEPI is committed to providing the academic community with adaptive solutions to address its ever-changing needs and nurture learners and talents to develop a competitive workforce of scientists and innovators. CEPI’s STEAM solutions present a holistic approach that is aligned with the Department of Education’s drive to strengthen STEAM education in the Philippines by integrating it in all subjects and learning resources.

 

The First Integrated STEM Summit in Asia featured 42 distinguished local and international speakers, who facilitated discussions and collaborations on various topics under three thematic areas which were "Navigating and Understanding the Integrated STEM Education Landscape," "Strengthening the STEM pK-12 System Towards Innovative Solutions for Socio-Economic Development," and "Articulating Future Pathways to Create Shared Initiatives to Advance Integrated STEM."

 

The summit was co-organized by US-based STEM Leadership Alliance (SLA), a broad coalition of industry leaders, educators, and non-profit organizations committed to helping schools and industries to work together, and create a culture of innovation to address societal problems. It was co-convened by the Department of Education, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Trade and Industry with the support of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas.
