C & E’s latest computer science textbook now available
C & E Publishing, Inc. has released its latest computer science textbook titled Data Structures and Algorithms. Written by Cecil Jose Delfinado, the textbook is a core component of and serves as a foundation to the majority of specialization tracks in information technology-related programs.
The textbook covers abstract data types, computational complexity, stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, graphs, and hash tables. It discusses in detail recursive algorithms, big-O analysis, and special topics such as B-trees, disjoint sets representation, shortest paths, and priority queues. The algorithms are provided in pseudocode, with some implemented in C and Java. Explanations, diagrams, examples, and applications are sufficiently featured for easier comprehension. Each chapter ends with exercises and machine problems to evaluate the students’ understanding of the topics.
Mr. Delfinado serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science of the Institute of Information and Computing Sciences at the University of Santo Tomas. He received his Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of the Philippines Diliman and his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, USA.
Copies of the textbook are now available at selected C & E Bookshop branches. For orders or inquiries, call telephone no. (632) 929 5088 or email C & E at customerservice@cebookshop.com.
