C & E holds training for teachers of English in Negros

C & E Publishing, Inc. held a seminar-workshop on curriculum-compliant strategies in the teaching of English at the Gallaga Theater of the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental last October 3, 2015.

Around 50 teachers of English from the member-schools of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) participated in the activity. NOPSSCEA is an academic organization established in 1980 to strengthen linkages among its members and to undertake programs that contribute to community development.

Primarily, the seminar-workshop updated the teachers in the latest techniques, approach, and strategies in the teaching of English under the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum. It also initiated the formation of a professional organization to foster unity and academic excellence among the teachers.

Redentor Lebantino, editor and co-author of C & E’s English textbook series, Voyagers, discussed the Department of Education guidelines on the core subject and the recommended strategies in the delivery of reading, language, grammar, and writing lessons.

C & E regularly conducts seminar-workshops and other trainings on the K to 12 curriculum implementation for faculty and school administrators to improve the quality of Philippine education and to promote professional excellence.
